Personalised planning and the right of people with disabilities

DIRECTOR
David Benassi

OBJECTIVES

The Master’s aims to enable participants to acquire the cultural and technical skills necessary to identify and understand the relevance of the issue of individual planning in the evolution of social welfare policies for people with disabilities.
More specifically, the course focuses on providing a framework of knowledge and professional experiences so that students can approach the issue of disability from a human rights perspective. Reference will be made to the implications and consequences of adopting this approach within social services and all operators whose services/roles require them to deal with people with disabilities and their families.
In terms of outcomes, the aim of the course is to enable students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure that - within the current service system - the plans of people with disabilities become the key factor in social welfare policies and in guiding them towards the recognition of people’s rights to level independently, to social inclusion and to the improvement of their quality of life.
